Off To Where

He stops at a lake. He sighs and swallows a handful of water.

The sun is shining today. I’m tired of it. What do I do today?

He walks off into the trees. There is a mountain that can be seen out in the distance. Some time passes as the sun hides behind the clouds. He arrives at the base of the mountain.

I’m going to climb you today. Birds are quiet, no wind, no sun. Yeah I’m gonna climb.

He starts heading up the trail reaching the first sheer side. Fingers ashy with a bunch of calluses, he starts.

With melody: Climbing a mountain, I am climbing a mountain and that’s what I like to do.

At the peak with the sun still behind the clouds. He lays down. Making motorcycle sounds with his lips and says “welp okay”. He heads down back to the trees. Going inside a cave, there is a makeshift bed out of sticks and leaves.

What am I doing? I should… His stomach growls and leaves. A fish on a stick is roasting over a fire. He eats and lays on the pile of leaves, he calls a bed. I’m going back tomorrow. I don’t care anymore. I don’t want to live like this.

The fire is put out and the cave entrance is covered. He sets out to the hilly plains with his rug-sack and the sky is cloudy.
